Three words: Robert Carradine’s laugh. That’s basically the reason to watch this movie. The humor is only occasionally amusing, the references are dated and actually pretty racist, and Carradine is the least-believable college student I’ve ever seen on screen. But in a way, this story of nerds-turned-frat-bros is also kinda charming.
I honestly expected a little more out of this movie, I think because I had heard it so much over the course of many a pop culture-related conversation. But I did like the fact that I didn’t know who any of the actors were except for skinny John Goodman. Kind of refreshing to let the nerds be nerds rather than a meta commentary on how cool the actor actually is who was playing him/her.
