Look, I have a weak spot for Disney (Channel Original) Movies. Stepsister From Planet Weird? THAT’S what I watched when I was home sick from school. Not “The Price Is Right.” And Motocrossed? That girl made me want to cut my hair! She rocked it AND she got all the hottiez!
I know it took me a really long time to watch HSM. I avoided HSM. I did not want to cope with HSM. Its popularity freaked me out. But then I broke down. THANK GOD I DID.
This movie is great. It’s not deep, it’s not brilliantly acted, and I’d be damned if I wanted it to possess either of those qualities. It’s a feel-good movie and Zac Efron is really, really attractive. I’m hoping that the next two movies on my queue are 2 and 3, and I think they are, because I need them to be. I need to find out what happens, you know, next.
Also, Vanessa Hudgens is sort of my homegirl. She is from Salinas, and I am from Salinas. We were probably neighbors and braided each other’s hair at one point. Or something.
I love seeing talented “kids”—Efron and I are the same age, I think—busting their guts to show how talented they are. It’s pretty clear here, and there’s not much else to expect. If you want to smile, and are prepared to smile, HSM will cause that grin.
